UVigo, the Best University in Spain for Food Science and Technology

The University of Vigo (UVigo) has solidified its position as a global reference in Food Science and Technology, ranking 17th in the world and first in Spain according to the 2025 Shanghai Ranking. This achievement improves on last year’s position and highlights the university’s research excellence.

UVigo’s success is largely driven by the work of its research institutes and centers, notably the Institute of Agroecology and Food (IAA), based at the Auga Campus, which plays a key role in maintaining the university’s international leadership in the field.

In addition to the IAA, other centers such as CIM, Cinbio, and Ecobas contribute to advancing various research areas, further strengthening the university’s global reputation and its capacity to compete at the highest level.
