As of December 31, 2025, the Institute of Agroecology and Food of the Universidade de Vigo had 194 members (70% women and 30% men), with a predominantly female composition across all research and support staff categories.
The staff is distributed across 40 senior researchers, 21 postdoctoral researchers, 94 predoctoral researchers, and 39 research support staff members, forming a solid and well-balanced structure that combines scientific leadership, training of new talent, and specialized technical support.
Organization
The governing bodies of the IAA demonstrate strong gender balance. All committees include at least 50% female members, reflecting gender equality as a guiding principle. Consequently, the institute ensures inclusive decision-making and effective governance across all levels.
