Moreover, <strong>200 were published in first-quartile (Q1)<\/strong> journals and <strong>103 ranked in the top decile (D1)<\/strong>, reflecting high scientific quality. Furthermore, strong international collaboration appeared in <strong>210 publications<\/strong>, and women participated in <strong>155 of them<\/strong>, highlighting their central role in the institute\u2019s research. In addition, the staff served as corresponding authors in <strong>115 papers<\/strong>, with women leading <strong>56 of these publications<\/strong>. Finally, the scientific output included <strong>13 book chapters<\/strong>, <strong>1 book<\/strong>, and <strong>9 defended doctoral theses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr class=\"mt-8 mb-8 bg-graylight\" style=\"height: 10px;\" \/>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-8\">\n<h2 id=\"financiamento\">Fundraising<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"259\">In 2025, the Instituto de Agroecolox\u00eda e Alimentaci\u00f3n launched 3 European projects, securing<strong> \u20ac857,476<\/strong> in funding, and 12 national and regional projects, totaling <strong>\u20ac1,073,098<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"259\">Additionally, the institute maintained strong knowledge transfer, signing 76 R&amp;D contracts with companies worth <strong>\u20ac729,164<\/strong>, thereby consolidating collaboration with the productive sector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-4\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-250519 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2025-indicadores-actuais.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"594\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2025-indicadores-actuais.jpg 594w, https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2025-indicadores-actuais-255x300.jpg 255w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr class=\"mt-8 mb-8 bg-graylight\" style=\"height: 10px;\" \/>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-8\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-250551 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Imaxe-actualizada-persoal-2025-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Imaxe-actualizada-persoal-2025-1.jpg 638w, https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Imaxe-actualizada-persoal-2025-1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-4\">\n<h2 id=\"persoal\">Staff<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"830\" data-end=\"890\">The Institute\u2019s greatest asset is, without doubt, its staff.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"1130\">As of December 31, 2025, the Institute of Agroecology and Food of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvigo.gal\/en\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universidade de Vigo<\/span><\/span><\/a> had 194 members (70% women and 30% men), with a predominantly female composition across all research and support staff categories.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1422\">The staff is distributed across <a href=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/en\/team\/senior-research-staff\/\">40 senior researchers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/en\/team\/postdoctoral-researchers\/\">22 postdoctoral researchers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/en\/team\/investigadores-predoutorais\/\">93 predoctoral researchers<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/iaa.uvigo.gal\/en\/team\/research-support-staff\/\">39 research support staff<\/a> members, forming a solid and well-balanced structure that combines scientific leadership, training of new talent, and specialized technical support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr class=\"mt-8 mb-8 bg-graylight\" style=\"height: 10px;\" \/>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-5\">\n<h2 id=\"organizacion\">Organization<\/h2>\n<p>The governing bodies of the IAA demonstrate strong gender balance. All committees include at least 50% female members, reflecting gender equality as a guiding principle.
